The Elder Magazine talked to Katherine Wilson, who played a key role in setting up Employers for Carers ten years ago, about the compelling business case for better support for working carers and how the new ‘Carer Confident’ benchmarking scheme can help employers to measure their progress toward inclusion.

Today I would like to speak about my project on the carer service.

This is a project to be installed somewhere in Portugal preferably with the proactive support of local authorities particularly from municipal chambers and their Health Care departments. 

This project it is not to create a new carer agency but a multidisciplinary elderly center involving beyond the caring service also several creative activities such like Arts, Music, Multimedia and and linking the elderly to musicians, artists, actors and actresses and techno experts in various fields.

To make this dream coming true I need some finance support and also logistic support from local authorities as mentioned above.
International carer agencies (especially those facing the possibility of opening a dependency or office in Portugal), are also welcome given the benefits they can bring by their experience and knowledge.
