About Parkinson's disease dementia

The brain changes caused by Parkinson's disease begin in a region that plays a key role in movement. As Parkinson's brain changes gradually spread, they often begin to affect mental functions, including memory and the ability to pay attention, make sound judgments and plan the steps needed to complete a task.

The key brain changes linked to Parkinson's disease and Parkinson's disease dementia are abnormal microscopic deposits composed chiefly of alpha-synuclein, a protein that's found widely in the brain but whose normal function isn't yet known. The deposits are called "Lewy bodies".

Starting my blog (after 2 years in England)

Recently and after the creation for already long months, of my own Facebook page, I decided to also create a blog about my activity as a carer.
So I would like to welcome all my readers and ask them to be attentive and read my posts, some dedicated specifically to the health problems of patients with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.
Given my experience also as a carer regarding children, I will also address some of my experience in this area.
Some of the posts will also be informative and reported by some credible sources in the field of such diseases. Whenever necessary, I will collect one or two of the paragraphs of such articles and indicate the link of the respective website or blog where I collected the articles, in order to allow the reader to have access to the complete text of those articles.

I am also a former actress of the company "Teatro Ibérico" in Lisbon, where i perfomed as the main actress in dozens of perfomances in Portugal, Spain and United States. As the main actress i performed during the I Mostra del Teatro Espanhol, in which I met several Spanish actors and actresses, among whom I emphasize Nuria Espert and also several companies known throughout the world, such as La Claca, Furia del Bals, Los Comediants and others). I retired very earlier due a project with my husband, the surrealist artist Carlos Martins, a project related with art and no standard craft. In 1984 i won the award for the best actress at the "Siglo d´Oro", the International Theater Festival of El Paso in United States of America.
Before to leave Portugal where the situation of genuine actors/actresses was dramatically impaired, i was forced to leave the theater and follow a project of artwork with my husband. I learned painting and Ceramics and later i applied these experiences with children.
The readers that want to know me better, they can access to my complete biography on the right gadget called "My biography".
